Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Training Seminar

This course explains the concepts, requirements, and practical application of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADA of 1990 makes it unlawful to discriminate in employment against a qualified individual with a disability. The Act requires all private, state, or local government employers with 15 or more employees to make sure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to apply for jobs and work in positions for which they are qualified, have equal access to benefits and privileges, and have an equal opportunity to be promoted once they are working. The course outlines how employers can ensure that they are ADA-compliant and informs them of the consequences of failing to comply with the legislation. As of the date reviewed, the content of this course is in compliance with federal law and court decisions. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the law, information in this course may become outdated. SkillSoft's Legal Compliance courses are developed and maintained with subject matter support provided by the Labor, Employment, and Employee Benefits Law Group of the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA.
