Compensable Time: How To Ensure Proper Compensation for Work-Related Activities and Stay Out of Legal Hot Water Training Seminar

Compensable time conundrums range from the high-tech (an assistant who's seemingly on her BlackBerry 24/7) to the low-tech (the time employees spend donning and doffing safety gear). One common denominator, however, is the risks you as an employer face if you make the wrong call on compensable time-ranging from wage/hour audits to costly class-action lawsuits.

Learning Objectives

By attending this webcast you will learn:
  • Whether booting up computers and other technology-based activities, such as checking and responding to work email via PDAs, are compensable
  • When "donning and doffing" activities are compensable - and when they're not
  • What constitutes travel time under federal law
  • What you need to know about the general definition of "compensable time"
  • Best practices for ensuring that workers properly track the time spent performing compensable activities
  • The most common mistakes employers make with regard to compensable time, and how you can avoid them
