About the Speaker
Fco. J. Pe??a Vald??s is a lawyer with Cacheaux Cavazos & Newton in McAllen, Texas. He obtained his law degree from the Instituto Tecnol??gico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), in Mexico. He is fluent in English and Spanish, his areas of practice include corporate employment, labor law, labor litigation, health and safety, and environmental law.
He represents U.S. and foreign companies (Maquiladoras) in litigation before the state and federal labor boards, as well as before the federal and state labor and environmental authorities in connection with compliance with administrative labor matters, health and safety, and environmental proceedings. He counsels Maquiladoras established in Mexico about the application of labor, health and safety, and environmental laws to the workplace. He provides integrated employment law counseling. He is a member and founder of the Ex-A-Tec Legal Association, the Texas-Mexico Bar Association, and the Labor Law Bar Association. He is a co-author of Current Legal Aspects of a Mexico Operation, and Manual on Labor Relationships, and he collaborates with the law firm's newsletter, CCN Mexico Report.
