GWGK/TUC Mini Camp Training Seminar
GWGK: This advanced Authorized Cisco course covers the in-depth and important topics needed to implement Cisco Voice Gateways and Gatekeepers in Enterprise or Service Provider environments with CallManager and Cisco Unity. Learn to install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco voice gateways and gatekeepers in Enterprise installations in accord with the recommendations of Cisco's Solution Reference Network Design (SRND) for IP Telephony guides. Given a Voice over IP (VoIP) design, you will select an appropriate deployment model, correctly configure the gateways and gatekeepers (whether distributed or centralized), implement call plans, and decide how to implement the most commonly offered Service Provider or managed services applications, features, or implementation requirements.
TUC: This course equips network professionals with the knowledge and skills required to troubleshoot Unified Communications systems/solutions in enterprise, mid-market, and commercial deployments. Learn troubleshooting methodology, triage, resources, tools, and fixes at the integrated system/solution level as well as for components, such as Cisco Unified CallManager, Cisco Unity, videoconferencing, and network infrastructure.
Why take GWGK/TUC from Global Knowledge?
Superior Hands-on Labs
We offer a unique, real-world GWGK/IPTT lab environment that teaches you how to build and test a sophisticated IP telephony network that you can use as a template for a real deployment, including fault-tolerant gatekeeper (gatekeeper clusters) and directory gatekeeper deployments. You will also learn to troubleshoot a sophisticated IP telephony network based on best practice recommendations for a real deployment. We have set ourselves apart from other Cisco training providers by enhancing our GWGK/IPTT hands-on labs to include a real dial plan and Class of Service for calling out to the PSTN, branch offices, and PBXs; fault-tolerant gatekeep

GWGK Outline
1. Function of Gateways and Gatekeepers
Learn the function of gateways and gatekeepers in a VoIP environment that includes H323, MGCP, and SIP protocols
- Introducing Gateways and Gatekeepers
Given either a single, centralized, multi, or distributed deployment model, compare and contrast the role and functionality of gateways and gatekeepers. - Implementing an H.323 Gateway
Given deployment requirements including various features, devices, and traffic considerations, implement an H.323 gateway. - Implementing an MGCP Gateway
Given deployment requirements including various features, devices, and traffic considerations, implement an MGCP gateway. - Implementing SIP Gateways
Given deployment requirements including various features, devices, and traffic considerations, implement a SIP Trunk between another CallManager or Cisco SIP Proxy Server.
2. Integrating a VoIP Network to the PSTN and PBXs
Identify the requirements for integrating a VoIP network with the PSTN and PBXs using voice gateways.
- Connecting to the PSTN and PBXs
Discover the activities required when integrating PSTN and PBX to gateways. - Analog Circuits
Given deployment requirements, integrate a voice gateway to the PSTN or a PBX using analog circuits. - CAS Circuits
Given deployment requirements, integrate a voice gateway to the PSTN or a PBX using CAS circuits. - PRI Circuits
Given deployment requirements, integrate a voice gateway to the PSTN or a PBX using PRI circuits. - QSIG Integration
Given deployment requirements, integrate a voice gateway to the PSTN or a PBX using QSIG. - PBX Integration Case Study
Given deployment requirements, discuss the various options for integrating a VoIP network to a PBX.
3. Implementing a Dial Plan
Learn to implement a dial plan on a Cisco gateway including dial and number plans and COR applications.
- Dial Plan Overview
Given a VoIP network, design an effective scaleable numbering and dial plan for H.323, MGCP, and SIP gateways. - Digit Manipulation
Given a network topology, improve call flow by designing and using translation rules and translation profiles to manipulate digits on a gateway using CLI. - Class of Restriction
Given several incoming and outgoing dial-peer scenarios, identify where in the gateway COR is applied, and describe the configuration and verifications steps. - Influencing Call Routes
Given a network topology, influence call routes to provide redundancy and cost efficiency.
4. Implementing Advanced Gateway Features
Given a set of requirements for advanced services, configure a voice gateway to enable the required services.
- Deploying Survival Remote Site Telephony (SRST)
Given redundancy requirements for a Centralized Call Processing model, configure SRST on a remote site gateway to support the requirements. - Digital Signal Processors in Voice Gateways
Given deployment requirements including transcoding and conferencing, configure DSP Farms on a gateway. - Tool Command Language (Tcl)
Given deployment requirements including basic Auto Attendant functions, configure Tcl applications to support the requirements.
5. Implementing Gatekeeper
Given a set of deployment requirements including number resolution and Call Admission Control, implement a gatekeeper to meet the requirements.
- Gatekeeper Overview
Learn the features and functions of a gatekeeper. - Implementing Gatekeepers
Given a set of deployment requirements including single and multizone, configure a gatekeeper to provide number resolution and CAC for H.323 gateways and CallManager. - Directory Gatekeeper
