    • Compare/contrast Lockout/Tagout practices between 29 CFR 1910.269 with Subpart S and the generic Lockout/Tagout standard.
    • Understand the training/retraining requirements for covered electrical workers.
    • Understand the requirements for job briefing discussions.
    • Be able to identify appropriate personal protective equipment for the types of work being performed.
    • Know the requirements for testing and use of live-line tools.
    • Understand when energized work is permitted and the rules that apply.
    • Understand minimum requirements for performing high-voltage/high power testing, both in the field and in permanent test facilities.
    • Understand safe methods of installing and removing overhead lines.
    • Know when tree-trimming operations are covered by this standard and safety rules that apply.
    • Know the minimum safety requirements for work in substations.
    • Understand key safety rules for work in generating stations, including coal-fired and hydroelectric stations.
    • Know safety precautions to be followed when working on special equipment such as capacitors and instrument transformers.
  • Electrical Safety-Related Work Practices
    • Understand the key element of the Electrical Safety-Related Work Practices Contained in 29 CFR 1910.331-335 and NFPA 70E 2007.
    • Compare/contrast the Lockout/Tagout practices between 29 CFR 1910.333 and 29 CFR 1910.147, the generic OSHA lockout/Tagout standard and NFPA 70E 120.
    • Understand the training requirements contained in 29 CFT 1910.332 and NFPA 70E 110.6.

    • Explain how to test electrical rubber gloves and protectors.
