Students will learn how to develop advanced desktop and distributed Windows applications using the Platform SDK and Visual C++. This course meets the Microsoft Proficiency Guidelines for Visual C++ at the Expert level. This course will help the student partially prepare for the Microsoft 70-016 MCSD exam titled "Designing and Implementing Desktop Applications with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0" and the 70-015 exam titled "Designing and Implementing Distributed Applications with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0." This course is also appropriate for IT Professionals interested in general Visual C++ 6.0 developer skills training.
Students completing this course will learn how to develop and analyze C++ applications using Java development suite with the SDK platform.
Class objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:- Create and manage Win32 processes and threads.
- Implement and use dynamic link libraries.
- Use file system APIs.
- Develop distributed applications using inter-process communication APIs.
- Use security and encryption APIs.
- Access databases using SQL with ODBC.
- Measure and tune application performance.
- Understand online help development using WinHelp and HTMLHelp.
- Implement GUI applications using the Win32 API.
