Retirement Plans: Basic Features and Defined Contribution Approaches Training Seminar
This course reviews the historical development of retirement plans, analyzes various sponsor objectives served by the creation of qualified retirement plans, provides a detailed analysis of both the tax and non-tax qualification requirements, as well as the individual retirement plan accounts available.
This "blended learning" course (part-self study, part instructor-led) gives you access to an instructor seven days a week, 24 hours a day from the convenience of your work or home. The instructor posts weekly lecture notes and quizzes to help you evaluate your understanding of the material. Discussion board and chat features provide a high level of interaction between the instructor and students.
Once enrolled participant will receive a password and the instructor contact information. The dates/ times for the "open discussion" topics will be sent for scheduling purposes. It will vary on how long to complete since it is a self study format. The participant will dictate the speed of the completion.
This course can be taken independently for professional development, or in conjunction with other courses to earn the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designations.

The practice exam on CD-ROM familiarizes you with the computer-based examination process, plus helps you assess your understanding of the subject matter.
Examinations
The course examination is two hours in length and consists of 100 multiple choice questions. Automatic scoring is provided at the test site.
CEBS examinations are administered via computer at Prometric Testing Centers. A CEBS representative will contact you when your exam eligibility has been processed so that you are able to make your testing appointment.
The price of this course includes all materials, the testing fee, and the cost of shipping and handling.

This course qualifies for 36 hours of CE. The original notice (with seal) from the computer based testing center is the certificate of satisfactory completion. The CFP application form must be completed and filed in accordance with all CFP Board deadlines. Application forms can be downloaded from the CFP Board Web site at www.cfp.net or obtained by calling the CFP Board office at (303) 830-7500 or (800) 487-1497. Contact the CEBS Program to request a transcript letter. Attach a copy of this transcript to your CFP Certification Examination Application.
