Even the most alert and well-intentioned people working within the school system may not recognize within students, peers, or themselves, the interpersonal behaviors that lead to claims of sexual misconduct or inappropriate intimacies. For this reason, and to avoid the social and legal consequences of inappropriate conduct, the identification of questionable behaviors and the adoption of guidelines for appropriate conduct are imperative.

This course discusses general rules of conduct, what is considered inappropriate behavior, the legal consequences of inappropriate behavior, and how to manage situations when they arise.

School Teachers, Administrators, Contractors, Volunteers, and other School Personnel

60-75 minutes

PURPOSE
To advise school personnel of the interpersonal conduct that is inappropriate for a learning environment, and to prevent behaviors that can lead to claims of inappropriate, intimate, or sexual misconduct.
