Course Description
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification
offers recognition to practitioners who are starting a career in project
management as well as project team members who wish to demonstrate
their project management knowledge. This certification denotes that the
individual possesses the knowledge in the principles and terminology of
the Project Management Institute (PMI)®, A Guide to the Project
Management Body of Knowledge, (PMBOK® Guide) – Fifth Edition, the
standard of project management’s generally recognized good practices.
Individuals who contribute specialized skills to a project team can
benefit from this certification by allowing them to align their work
with that of project managers. The knowledge a practitioner gains from
earning the CAPM® certification can be applied to on-the-job experiences
which help develop growing levels of competence in the practice of
project management. Individuals who carry the CAPM® designation after
their name enjoy a high level of credibility from PMP® credential
holders, project managers, employers and peers.
The value of the CAPM® Program
- Organizations are increasingly adopting project management as a
formal career path, and CAPM® certification is a proactive way to
develop competent project managers who will serve as tomorrow’s star
project performers. Project teams that follow standard project
management methodologies are more likely to meet their goals. Such teams
benefit from streamline communications, greater flexibility and overall
more effective use of everyone’s time.
- For these reasons, many employers feel that project team members who
earn the CAPM® credential are valuable to their organization.
- Who should apply for CAPM®?
- If you are a less experienced project practitioner looking to
demonstrate your commitment to project management, improve your ability
to manage larger projects, earn additional responsibility, and stand out
to potential employers, the CAPM® certification is right for you.
Will a CAPM® help me get a job?
- Project management skills are in demand. In a global survey
conducted, the majority of executives explicitly identified project
management as “the single most important skill for their current and
future success.” And in a recent study revealed that project management
is one of the top three skills employers are looking for. Kick start
your career with the CAPM®.
- This program meets the educational requirements defined in the CAPM®
Handbook allowing the participant to successfully register for the
exam.
