SERIES OVERVIEW: Your organization's supervisors don't need law degrees to avoid employment-related lawsuits. They just need a realistic understanding of what the courts expect, and some tools to help them deal with employee issues fairly and responsibly.
That's why we invite you and your supervisors to join us for What Your Supervisors Really Need to Know ??? - a four part series that covers the most common trouble spots of employment law. Sessions will be held each Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EST.
For your tuition price you can invite as many participants per location as you can fit in your office or meeting room.
GENERAL SERIES DESCRIPTION: In today's hyper-litigious world, even a simple mistake, or seemingly innocent remark, by a manager or supervisor can lead to a lawsuit.
Fact is most employment related trouble can be traced directly back to the actions or comments of a manager or supervisor. The good news is HR can measurably reduce a company's legal exposure by educating the management team on the fundamentals of employment law.
First, managers and supervisors need to understand that their actions - stray comments, ambiguous gestures, hotheaded reactions, avoidance behavior, documentation failures, un-kept promises, favoritism, unconscious biases, etc. - are amplified simply because they're in a managerial role. It's critical they remember that a single misstep can lead to a costly, distracting lawsuit that will seriously hurt your company.
Second, they need to learn techniques and strategies that will help them respond appropriately in a wide variety of situations.
This four-part series will deliver on both fronts. We've engaged a team of expert employment law attorneys from a prominent national law firm, Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP. They understand that managers don't need a law degree to avoid trouble. They just need a ealistic understanding of what the courts expect, and some tools to help them deal with employee issues fairly and responsibly.
The program includes four 60-minute programs held every Thursday starting September 14 (you can purchase one, two, three, or all four sessions, depending on your needs.)
