This webcast is designed to a) help you review your compliance with existing regulatory requirements, and b) help you get ready for the new requirements that will go into effect in 2007.
Veteran speaker Ben Graves will reveal the key actions you need to take to prepare for 2006. He'll focus on important requirements for medical plans, FSAs, FMLA, HIPAA, and COBRA. At the end of this course, participants will know:- How small plans must prepare for the April 15th deadline for compliance with the HIPAA Security Rules (large plans are already required to be in compliance).
- What amendments you need to make if you have modified your Section 125 plan to include the "Grace Period"
- How to handle a new DOL directive requiring group health plans to have written procedures for plan participants to request Certificates of Creditable Coverage.
- What rights that employees on FMLA have during open enrollment.
- If you have or are considering an HSA, how to make sure the provisions of your FSA document and the operation of your Health FSA don't violate the HSA rules.
- If you have made or will make changes in your ERISA plans, how to make sure that you comply with the DOL notification requirements involving the "Summary of Material Modifications" and the "Summary of Material Reductions."
- How to ensure that your medical plan(s) comply with the COBRA requirements that apply to open enrollment, including the open enrollment rights of qualified beneficiaries.
- How to be sure that your procedures include the issuing and documentation of a COBRA General Notice to those newly covered at open enrollment.
- How to modify language in the COBRA General Notice due to the court decision in the Lifecare Hospital Health case.
- How small plans should be prepared for compliance with the HIPAA Security Rules (large plans are already required to be in compliance)
