HIPAA Portability - - The Hidden Secrets to Compliance Training Seminar
Long before the privacy rules were enacted, HIPAA portended complex rules governing enrollment, portability, and nondiscrimination in health plans. The fact is, even though privacy issues have significantly overshadowed the other requirements of HIPAA, there can be serious consequences to a health plan that violates these other rules.
As with any law of this nature, real life situations can create perplexing compliance problems. Fortunately, the Department of Labor has published valuable guidance that outlines what they are looking for when they audit a plan sponsor for compliance with the HIPAA portability rules.
