Managing Difficult People: How to Make Them Less Disruptive and More Productive Training Seminar

Difficult people cost your company money. They sap morale. They hurt team performance. And they suck up valuable management time, diverting your company's leaders from their key objectives.

The solution isn't always to fire difficult employees. Sometimes good people have quirky personalities that can be managed. Do you have otherwise useful workers who find the negative in everyone and everything? Who are unresponsive? Who fail to keep commitments? Who become verbally abusive when their needs are not met?

If so, attend this conference and learn often-overlooked strategies for getting the best out of difficult people. Our speaker will explore the behavior of different types of difficult workers and identify coping strategies for dealing with them. At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Explain what makes difficult people tick (i.e., what they really want)
  • Recognize how people encourage difficult behavior in others
  • Avoid the trap of letting difficult employees divert too much management attention
  • Identify and understand these five most common categories of difficult employees (Complainers and whiners, Unresponsives, Negative personalities, Verbally abusives and People who fail to keep commitments)
  • Deploy appropriate interpersonal communication skills to alter the negative behaviors associated with each category.
