Unit 1 Overview and Objectives Applications - The trainee will be introduced to the different applications of Variant Configuration. Benefits - The trainee will learn about the benefits of Variant Configuration and the potential it harbours. Structure of master data in R/3 - The trainee will be introduced to the most important concepts of Variant Configuration. Object dependencies - The trainee will be shown how object dependencies can be created. Unit 1 Summary Post Assessment Unit 2 Overview and Objectives Characteristic basic data - The trainee will be shown how to define characteristic basic data. Characteristic values - The trainee will be shown how to define characteristic values. Classes - Assigning materials to classes - The trainee will learn how to assign materials to classes. Searching for objects in classes - The trainee will be shown how to call up the classification system. The trainee will learn how to call up objects that belong to a class. Configuration profile: interface data - The trainee will learn how to assign the configurable material to a class via the configuration profile. Configuration profile: more parameters - The trainee will be shown how interface control can be used to influence the configuration. Preconditions - The trainee will learn how to call up object dependencies and how to create a precondition. Selection conditions - The trainee will learn how to create a selection condition. Actions - The trainee will be shown how actions are used in the system. Procedures - The trainee will learn how to define procedures and how they are used. Constraints - The trainee will be introduced to constraints and shown how these are used in the system. Tables - The trainee will be shown how tables can be used within object dependency definitions. Creating functions - The trainee will learn how to create a function. Usage of functions - The trainee will learn how to use a function in an object dependency. Material master - The trainee will learn how to create a configurable material. Bills of material - The trainee will learn how to create a bill of material (BOM) for a configurable material. Routings - The trainee will learn how to create a routing for a configurable material. Unit 2 Summary Post Assessment
