Advanced Security Services Training Seminar
Everyday, a terrorist act is committed somewhere in the world. In fact, there have been nearly 1,000 attacks in the United States and several hundred attacks on U.S. assets and interests abroad since the mid-1970s when the FBI began collecting this data. Today it is estimated that there are nearly 1/4 million terrorists in the U.S. including a large presence of Hezbollah terrorists. Federal authorities have acknowledged that vigilance is the key to safeguarding against terror attacks, and as such, are currently looking at mandatory training requirements for private security forces. However, inconsistency in required training for private security guards is causing concern on Capital Hill.
There are several important reasons for this concern. First and foremost, over 80% of the nation's critical infrastructure is protected by private security guards. In the eyes of the government, this requires additional training. Secondly, executives from many multi-national organizations who travel throughout the world have become victims of kidnapping and other ransom/revenge crimes. To combat this threat, executives are employing private body guards or security forces in record numbers. In evaluating suppliers of security guard services, Private Security Firms, and their customers, may be held negligent if protective forces are not properly trained for the foreseeable risk of a terrorist attack.
In response to these valid concerns, Spy-Ops has created a Certificate in Security Services training program with an emphasis on the strategies and tactics surrounding terrorism. The program is a terrorism primer that includes an overview of terrorism, descriptions of terrorist behaviors and motivations, and a review of terrorist group organizations and the threats they pose. Additionally, the program provides the latest information on terrorist scenario planning techniques, operations and tactics, and technology and weaponry. The program has been specifically designed to help train and educate individuals on terrorism, and assist in recognizing and mitigating the threats being faced.
Our program consists of 10 modules that take approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. The modules are delivered via CD or e-Mail and contain all necessary materials in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF). Once completed, the participant takes a comprehensive exam and submits it for scoring. If successful, they receive a Certificate in Counter-Terrorism. The tangible benefits of continuing professional educating include career advancement, professional recognition, personal safety, job security and the list goes on. In addition, we offer fifty-two individual training briefs to support the specific interest of our customers, as well as custom training briefs upon request.
