Get an overview of the z/OS Operating System (OS). Look at the systems from both a hardware and software perspective. Develop a basic understanding of z/OS, Processor Resource/Systems Manager (PR/SM), Job Entry Subsystem 2 (JES2), Job Entry Subsystem 3 (JES3), Tivoli NetView for z/OS, Time Sharing Option (TSO), z/OS Communications Server, Enterprise System Connection (ESCON) and Fiber Connector (FICON), and the Initial Program Loader (IPL) process. Become comfortable issuing z/OS commands from a system console, from a TSO console, and from a Tivoli NetView console.
