Course Description
This three day course prepares IT Professionals toadminister enterprise search solutions using Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010and Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint. All aspects ofadministration are covered including search topologies, search sites, contentcrawling, federation, monitoring, and search reporting.

After completing this course, you will be able to:
Design the deployment,scalability, and fault tolerance options for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. Configure contentsources, crawl content, and troubleshoot and monitor the crawl process. Create and configureenterprise search sites. Create and configuremanaged properties, keywords, and SharePoint search scopes. Create new federatedlocations and configure the federated web parts. Monitor and configuresearch reports and web analytics. Design the deployment,scalability, and fault tolerance options for FAST Search Server. Install FAST SearchServer standalone and multiple search server systems. Determine when to use aFAST Search specialty connector and configure the FAST Web Crawler. Configure FAST Searchenhanced managed properties, FAST Search scopes, business based promotions anddemotions, FAST Search keywords, and Visual Best Bets. Implement a backup andrestore plan for FAST Search Server. Monitor the FAST SearchServer and use command line utilities. Before attending thiscourse, students should have experience: Administering ActiveDirectory: creating and managing user and group accounts, delegation of dministration,and configuring Group Policy. Administering SQL Server2005 or 2008: creating logons, assigning roles, and using SQL ManagementStudio. Experience using WindowsPowerShell cmdlets and scripts.
