Effective contract management is a systematic program that identifies, tracks, and documents all contract activities from inception through final acceptance. In the process, Contract management includes negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing to any changes that may arise during its implementation or execution process. It can be summarized as the process of systematically and efficiently managing contract creating, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk. Contract Management provides sufficient control to assure the timely and economical completion of the work!
In general contracts exist to document the interactions between businesses or individuals, providing both records and explicitly outlined terms. For many businesses, this involves detailing a company's responsibilities to clients, customers and business partners for future reference.
