''''The Accelerated Certificate in Financial Planning program is a CFP Board-Registered Program that will enable you to sit for the upcoming CFP® Certification Examination. The complete program can be completed in just nine months!

This program blends the highly-effective instructional methodology of self-study and classroom instruction for an excellent learning experience - students receive the classroom instruction delivered as a live class via the Web!

For each of the six modules, candidates will attend 7-8 total classes, scheduled three days per week, three hours per class. Each module requires approximately six weeks of pre-study before each class, as students will be shipped a CFP Board-required textbook and approximately 100 pages of pre-reading materials for each module. The six modules are:
  • FP101: Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning
  • FP102: Insurance and Employment Benefits
  • FP103: Investment Planning
  • FP104: Income Tax Planning
  • FP105: Planning for Retirement
  • FP106: Estate Planning

Playback Feature

One of the unique benefits of the Virtual Classroom Program includes our Playback feature. Students have the ability to replay one or more of the virtual sessions throughout the entire program!


The total price for each module includes tuition, required textbooks, and pre-study materials. Transfer credit is available, subject to approval.

FP101 Course Description

This course introduces you to the concepts and profession of personal financial planning. Topics in the course include:
  • The financial planning process
  • Regulation and licensing as an investment advisor
  • The economic environment
  • The time value of money
  • Planning for special situations such as a college education
  • The formation and operation of a closely held business
  • Disability
  • Wealth accumulation
  • Tax, retirement, and estate planning techniques
This course can be taken independently for professional development, or in conjunction with other courses in the Accelerated Certificate In Financial Planning program to earn the prestigious CFP designation.

Class Schedule March 2008 CFP® Certification Examination

Classes are conducted over the web on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. Each class meets for 3 hours; choose from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm (ET), or 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm (ET). The Virtual Class schedule is as follows:
  • FP101 – May, 2007 - 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16
  • FP102 – June 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20
  • FP103 – July 18, 19, 23, 25, 26, 30; August 1, 2
