    The purpose of this program is to provide nurses an understanding of the dysrhythmias of the SA node and atria, how to identify them from an ECG strip and the appropriate interventions.

    After completing this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Identify nursing responsibilities when a dysrhythmia is detected.
  • Describe the five steps in analyzing the ECG waveform.
  • Define the main sinus dysrhythmias: sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, sinus arrhythmia, and sinus arrest.
  • Recognize from the ECG waveform the main sinus dysrhythmias and their probable causes.
  • Identify the appropriate interventions for the main sinus dysrhythmias.
