This one day workshop will discuss how OSHA is adopting the UN's Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHG) by revising its requirements for the Hazard Communication Standard (HAZCOM) 29 CFR 1910.1200. This United Nations program is designed to provide global consistency in the classification and labeling of hazardous chemicals. Companies that market products globally must understand the Global Harmonized System for classification and labeling of chemicals. Exporters must ensure their products are accepted in GHS compliant countries.

The course covers major provisions of the GHS program; OSHA's proposed rule to revise the Hazard Communication Standard and regulatory changes being developed by other Federal agencies. Topics covered will include:
- OSHA's GHS Proposal
- Detailed comparison of the Hazard Communication Standard vs. the GHS
Activities of other Federal Agencies
- Consumer Product Safety Commission
- Implementation Outside the U.S.
