Crypto Courses and Workshops

Blockchain is undoubtedly one of the biggest key phrases in technology you've heard in the past year. In short, a blockchain is a revolutionary technological innovation consisting of a continuously growing sequence of records (or blocks), which are cryptographically linked together and distributed among its users. Each sequence or block consists of a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and the transaction data. It's open-sourced, decentralized nature enables transactions between two parties without needing any third-party, dominant institute prevailing over the transactions, i.e. the bank.

Most people know blockchain as the technology behind Bitcoin, and it's near impossible to describe the origins of Blockchain without it. The blockchain was the invention of a person or group of people known by the pseudonym, Satoshi Nakamoto, aiming to establish a viable alternative to fiat currency. In 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto released the whitepaper "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System,"  describing a P2P version of electronic cash known as Bitcoin. Bitcoins are created as a reward for a process known as mining. They can be exchanged for other currencies, products, and services on the global market.

People are eager to learn about this intriguing new technology as it is offers some notable benefits, including greater transparency, security, traceability, as well as improved efficiency and speed of transactions. A few years after the release of Bitcoin, developers began to see the far-reaching potential of Blockchain and began to explore its uses outside of the cryptocurrency realm. Before this, blockchain and Bitcoin were often thought of as the same thing, when in reality, Bitcoin is simply an application built with Blockchain.

Blockchain, the technology that runs Bitcoin, has developed over the last decade into one of today’s biggest ground-breaking technologies with potential to impact every industry from financial to manufacturing to educational institutions. Those who started to realize around 2014 that blockchain could be used for more than cryptocurrency started to invest in and explore how blockchain could alter many different kinds of operations, ranging from supply chains, healthcare, insurance, transportation, voting, contract management and more.
